This is a Bryston 9B ST PRO that was upgraded to the 9B SST PRO specs by the factory in 2009. The upgrade made a very noticeable difference – the amp now sounds much smoother / warmer and the highs are a little less bright. The ‘PRO’ designation simply means it has the desirable input volume adjustment dials on each channel – otherwise it is identical to the non-PRO version. This version also has the rare ‘DC on’ and 12V trigger. The amp is under warranty until mid 2020.
This great amp has only been used to power my center (two channels bridged) and rear channels – so one channel (#3) hasn’t even been used in 5 years. I’ve always had high efficiency speakers – so this unit really hasn’t had to work hard in its life. I’m mostly a two channel guy, and have decided to go only two channel for now, so I decided to sell this to free up some funds for another project.
Amp works flawlessly and sounds great. There are a couple small surface scratches on the top and on the front handles. The scratches are hard to photograph. Please see all the pics – amp will arrive exactly as pictured.
The amp will be shipped in its new factory box (they replaced the old box when the factory made the upgrade). Boxed it weighs 70 lbs – so can be shipped UPS. It will be shipped and fully insured. Buyer pays shipping and paypal adds 3% if that method is used.
