For sale is a great Cambridge Audio Preamp – the Azur 840E. This is easily one of the most advanced, balanced, and modern preamps made at any price. It set a new standard for transparency and neutrality with its ‘Terrapin’ modules – almost perfectly invisible in the sound chain.
I bought this unit a year ago, used it for about a month, and then a friend got me hooked on tube sound. It’s been in my closet for the past year, so I might as well find it a good home.
The Azur 840E has received great reviews and press. Search for ‘The Absolute Sound” issue 186 review – it was later named ‘Pre-amp of the Year’ for 2009 by TAS.
The unit is in perfect condition, comes with all accessories including remote, and is packed in the original box. It has barely been used, and still has the plastic tape on the screen. For a Pre-amp, it is quite heavy at ~20 pounds without packing materials.
