SOLD - FOR SALE: Clearaudio Maestro Wood
2009, 2010 and 2011 TAS Editor's Choice Awards, Stereophile recommended component. Top end of Clearaudio's MM cartridges. Low hours on this very good condition Clearaudio Maestro Wood cartridge. I recently upgraded from the Aurum beta S and the Maestro was levels up in detail, bass output and most of all - sound stage (size, depth, dimensionality). Includes the OEM case, manual, stylus tip protector and maintenance kit. Please note - the retip alone from a CA certified dealer is $720! $1200 new, $750 obo. PayPal, please add 3%. For feedback, please review my eBay positive feedback at 100% - shsab5.
Please also see my other ads for the matching CA Concept turntable with accessories and the Nova Phonomena Phono pre. This made for an awesome combination.
The Clearaudio Maestro is the top of the line cartridge in Clearaudio's range of Moving Magnet cartridges with a solid body of Satiné wood for a slightly warmer sound.
"This is the best sounding MM cartridge we have heard! Takes the Virtuoso Wood to new heights!" - Bob Bantz, President Elusive Disc
The Maestro features the same design as the popular Virtuoso Wood but with a new integral wood body for greater rigidity. With this improvement, you will notice an increase in dynamics and tighter image focus. The Maestro is equiped with a solid boron rod cantilever and Trygon P2 stylus (same stylus used on the famous Insider MC cartridge!) for decisive power not generally found in a Moving Magnet cartridge.
"Sonically, the Clearaudio Maestro Wood will be no stranger to those familiar with the virtues of the late, lamented Sure [V15mX]. Across most criteria, the easygoing balance of the V15 has been channeled into the Maestro Wood. Only there's more. More dimensionality, and greater soundstage width - areas where the Shure didn't especially excel. The Maestro Wood gushes sweet sonics like squeezing a ripe, red plum. It has a warm, darkly sensuous tonal balance, but it's not a softy in the dynamics department, nor does it smear inner details." - Neil Gader, The Absolute Sound, October 2008 Issue 185
Includes the cartridge, OEM case, manual, stylus tip protector and maintenance kit.
