It features the unique ACT output - using current instead of voltage for signal transmission. The same technology is used in the matching amp TA-F555es for low distortion and background. As a result, this tuner produces similar specs as the Kenwood L-02t.

This marvelous Sony tuner has undergone a complete overhaul. It is recapped with Nichicon Muse Gold and Philip film caps. The stock op-amps have also been replaced with Burr Brown equivalents. The ACT output is converted to regular RCA connections. The best feature about this tuner is it uses, not just one, but two antennas. It can switch between the two antennas for the best signal. Secondly, the LCD panel is very useful with full of lights and indicators. You can see the strength of the signal by how many vertical bars that appear on the LCD. It also has calibration tone function, 8 presets, and a blend function to eliminate static. After the overhaul, this Sony now has the lowest of background noise with high reception even on weak signal. It is ready to hit the road for another 25 years !! Watch out Kenwood.
This Sony tuner is like my signature since I personally modded it. I'm a well-known figure in the world but US Canuck doesn't allow me to reveal my identity. Because of my global footprint, this tuner would be a sweet momentos to collectors worldwide. It's highly sought after and its value will continue to rise as the world is entering a different Age.
