It is not cosmetically perfect. There is corrosion on the counterweight and other parts. Some screws are rusty. Please see the photos, I did my best to show the defects.
This tonearm was stored at a house near the beach and these parts corroded. It would be possible to have the parts re-plated. That's a bit expensive, but it is possible. The rusty screws would be a lot easier to replace. You can order new ones from McMaster-Carr and other sources. It would probably be under $10 to replace them all.
I just want to be very upfront about the cosmetics, I know people are particular about that and I am not hiding anything.
There is a significant upside here. This tonearm was used maybe 100 hours since new. It is functionally perfect and will work well. It comes with a Van denHull partial silver cable, which is in excellent shape. All the tools and extra parts are included, see the photos.
I am also selling at a significant discount because of the cosmetic issues. These sold for about $4,000 new and I am only asking for $1,500. You cannot get a tonearm of this quality for anywhere near that. A new SME will run over $5,000 and most used ones are over $2,000. The corrosion is only noticeable when you get up close, most won't even notice it. My loss, your gain. Pick up one of the top tonearms at the lowest price you'll find anywhere.
I'd keep it since it works beautifully, but I've moved all of my music to a music server and found myself spinning vinyl less and less.
