I originally had this listed, at the incorrect price, on AudioG, and when I tried to correct it, AG disallowed the "edit." Yes, I'm out $60!
Here's my description from that posting:
I am the original owner of this Line Magnetic 508ia tube integrated amplifier. It is less than one year old and has been well cared for. I have put NOS in the 12ax positions.
I possess all original boxes, material, remote, and manual. It also comes with the "cage" that sits over the tubes.
It was purchased in Shaker Heights, Ohio, from an authorized Line Magnetic dealer who still carries and endorses the brand.
I am selling it for a couple of reasons: it is more amp than I need in my system, but the real reason has to do with my hearing. I am listening less and less to music via speakers and more via headphones. I am thus putting less emphasis in my system around an integrated amp, and more into a phono preamp that I feed into a Mytek Manhattan that possesses a great headphone amp. I'll not give up on speakers, but just place less emphasis on them. ah, to grow old!
This is NOT a light piece of gear and as such I am requiring local pickup only. If you really want it, I will send. To calculate, the weight is 100 whopping pounds, the box measures 22x20x18 and it will include a wooden palette. So, all told, shipping is around 115 pounds.
I'm not in a rush to sell, but I am motivated. The piece sells new for $5,000. My price is well below that. Reasonable offers, local, considered.
I am a 60+ year old audiophile with an impeccable reputation in business and in general.
The unit is in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. Buyer pays 2% Paypal. I will cover the other 1%. If you wish to pay with a certified check, that is fine.
