I love this Audio Note DAC 4.1X Balanced Signature. It sounds better than any red book DAC I know and will go up to 24/96 with an optional Audiophilleo 2.0 or Sonicweld Diverter HR USB-to-SPDIF converter.
I use an Ayre QX-5 Twenty for TOSLINK and streaming, and I use an AN CDT-Four with this DAC. It sounds better than vinyl: unfortunately I’ve had excess medical expenses for three years now and certain things have to go.
This DAC 4.1X is the latest, best version of the DAC 4 series wit( a silver front. I’ll use the cash to live and, at least for now, use the COAX input on in my QX-5 for the CDT-Four, which should sound OK.
For the ultimate TIDAL HI-Fi streamer, match an Aurender N10 or W20 with the DAC 4.1X and a good digital cable (RCA or XLR). I’ve tried it. It sounds like 15 ips R2R tape. I need to carefully remove this and ***photograph the insides***. In the meantime, please direct any questions to me or Nick Gowan, firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you!
