Purchased new in 1986, I bought these vintage speakers (serial numbers 07467 & 07471) from the original owner in the 1990’s. They were part of my listening system until 7 or 8 years ago. They still look and sound great! The stands are also in great shape. The speakers originally cost $695 and the stands were more than $150. During the time I’ve owned them, the crossovers have been professionally rebuilt with quality parts. Also, the drivers and tweeters have been replaced with original equipment purchased from Fried.
I’ve rated them a 7 because there is one small scratch (about ¼ inch or less) on the back corner of one speaker. They do have scratches on the bottom of both speakers from being placed on speaker stands, and there is a small chip (about 3/8 inch by ¼ inch) in the veneer on the bottom of one speaker. Also, the plastic cable connect “nut” (positive/red) on one speaker is stripped. I always used banana plugs, so this was not an issue for me. Finally, the grill covers look great but the bottom sections of both frames have been repaired. I’ve included pictures of these items.
I’d prefer to sell these speakers/stands locally and will travel up to 50 miles to meet a buyer part way. I am willing to ship them outside of this area, but buyer pays actual Fed Ex packing and shipping costs. Please feel free to call or removed phone number for privacy if you have any questions. Thanks for your interest!
