Fully restored Scott 222 B stereo tube integrated amplifier in excellent fully restored working condition and excellent cosmetic condition. It was was professionally restored by a highly experienced vintage audio technician. This also comes with the original Scott metal case, original owners manual, original schematic and paperwork as pictured. Please see below for the details of the electronic restoration.

Here is a stunning example of a HH Scott 222B stereo integrated tube amplifier using EL-84 type power tubes.
The 222 "B" series featured a champagne-colored faceplate and brown knobs...the best looking model of the 222's in my opinion.

A truly exceptional amplifier, the Scott 222 B has a dedicated following both here and overseas for its incredibly musical performance, its relaxed sonics, and its exceptional soundstage and detail. Tube rectified, tube phono section, tube tone control section, etc.

Details of the Restoration:

Cosmetically this was an exceptionaly clean amp to begin with -- it looks like it is 5 years old rather than 55.

The restoration was painstakingly done about 2 years ago by a highly qualified vintage technician using top quality parts.
The tech is a purist, so he used the best available "can caps" rather than tacking in singles underneath. The can caps used were from Mallory's last run (made circa 1990) carefully chosen and tested -- they showed no signs of leakage and formed right up.
These are substantially nicer capacitors than the current-production "CE" caps.

Orange drop polypropylene signal caps and various other carefully selected capacitors were chosen based on sound quality.

A carefully selected set of New Old Stock tubes was installed in the amp, consisting of:

(1) GE 5AR4 rectifier
(4) Matsushita ("Japanese Mullard") EL84's
(2) Sylvania 6BL8's
(4) GE JAN-12AX7WA's (a beautiful matched quad)

After finishing the restoration, the amp was run over several days using a dummy load just to make sure everything was solid. After giving sufficient burn in time, he dialed in the bias, AC balance, etc. and verified that everything looked good on his 'scope and distortion analyzer.

Since the rebuild a couple years ago this amplifier has been a rock solid performer. It's sounds beautiful with every pair of speakers its been matched with and it's very quiet with highly sensitive speakers.

Please bid with confidence. I have sold many expensive vintage audio items with a perfect feedback rating. My packing of items is bullet-proof.; It will arrive working as described and in the cosmetic condition shown in the pictures.
