I recently experienced a problem with my CD player. When I hit the play button, the cd will spin then stop. No error messages, etc. The player is a Krell CD-DSP model. Any input or experiences anyone may have had similar with a correction plan would be appreciated.

i don't have a krell, but my transport is phillips under the hood; i had to remove the transport and found the four corner posts that are spring loaded were binding due to dried out lubricant. once re-lubed - no more spin / stop. issue resolved. hope that helps.

@Krell-1, from your description, it sounds as though the transport mechanism needs service. It may just be a question of lubrication in the right spot, as ejc_xrx suggests.

And why is everyone guessing about this? I gave a perfectly good and logical answer, yet it's obvious a so-called "Mod" deigned that my reasonable and realistic response should be removed. Yes, I colored my response with humor - - and why not? It's a humorous question!!

Simply, go see a technician and have the darned thing repaired!

Oh, Merry Christmas Chris . . .

Some say 'humour'...others say 'condescending'...

I would try applying some lubrication before seeing a technician...might just solve the problem and save yourself some money.

No, just humor. If you can't put a smile on your face, then don't. Yeah, use some lube on yourself then maybe your brain won't hurt as much.

Did you even determine whether this person knows how to use a screwdriver? No.

Did you even read the warning on the back of the unit? No. It says, "DO NOT OPEN. NO USER SERVICEABLE PARTS INSIDE."

In other words, the darn thing is dangerous, yet you're guiding an obvious newbie into becoming his own, unknowing, technician to do something potentially dangerous! Just amazing. Please, don't give any advice unless you know what you're saying - - first!

Please tell us everything you know about Radiation?

How's that for "condescending"?

Yes, so please stop! You're trolling with idiocy. So, because you're handing out incorrect information, and you don't like it when people tell you it's wrong, then everyone, including me, is a "Troll"? Go back under your rock and read about Radiation!

So, like you said, "if the cap fits . . ."

BestSound your original post was deleted for a very good reason. Your sarcastic reply was of absolutely no help to the OP and you knew that when you posted it.

So if you're unable or unwilling to offer some constructive ideas to help solve a problem, then please do us a favor and stick to forum threads where you're more comfortable delivering your standard overbearing message to the rest of us: that JBL speakers are manna from Heaven and everything else is crap.

Merry Christmas !!!
