Actually, after hearing the time that passed, pay pal decided that he keeps the pre amp, and I had to reimburse him some amount,I do not remember how much, but it was worth it to me just to be done with it. WE both agreed to that and moved on. It's not alot of fun dealing with them.

I have a general question relating to this topic: suppose you sold a particular piece of equipment, and you sell it as: "for parts or repair only, no returns" for whatever reason. Would this still be covered under some kind of express "warrantee" under PayPal? If you reveal all known issues, flaws, damage, what-have-you with an 'as-is, no return' policy, does PP still have the obligation to honor the sellers terms after the transaction should there be a dispute? If it were a cartridge, say, and the buyer breaks the needle, and cries to PP about it being damaged, is their methodology for solving disputes taking 'owner's negligence' into account? It's a very legally-complex area. Thanks to anyone who can chime in.

Is there any way to be protected as a seller? I was just contacted by a guy for my amp on sale and he refused to give me his phone number. "Government issued" he said. When I included that correspondence on my detailed description of the sale on Paypal Request for Money, he got angry and cancelled. Maybe I got lucky.

I'm thinking you did the right thing.
