Believe it or not the good ole' Post Office may be the least expensive of the bunch. Years ago I shipped an amp to Huntingdon UK for repair and the Post Office was by far the cheapest rate; several hundred dollars less than the others as I recall. I compared shipping costs from UPS, DHL, Fedex and USPS. Shipping time was 3-4 days.

It was via International Priority or Express shipping, not sure which one. I was somewhat shocked to discover how cheap it was in direct comparison to the other major shippers AND how little time the amp spent in transit.

This proved to me that despite their best efforts the Post Office can actually be quite efficient.

Go to the USPS website and click on Mail & Ship and then Calculate a Price. Then enter the destination information in Hong Kong and the shipping box dimensions and the weight. I'd strongly recommend that you double-box the amplifier. Then select the shipping options that are available to you. And don't forget insurance!

My wife sent a mini suitcase key (2oz?) from Canada to HK via Canada post surface mail, $25. took 3 months, came back. she re-sent, another $25. took 2 weeks this time. am sure the suit case was not much more than $100 lol. Tons of people fly that route daily. Share his/her flight ticket and have it hand delivered. That's what I would do. FedEx left a pair of $10,000 speakers at my front door.

The USPS maximum weight limit is 70lbs. If the item is 70lbs + packaging they may not accept it.
