While I'm at it - I know this is all about system synergy, but can't help asking what the best sounding integrated you've ever heard is...my favorite amp right now, as not only does it sound fantastic but also doesn't run warm (very important in my small listening room South FL :-)) is Perrreaux Eloquence 150i....Dali Mentor 6 speakers connected with interesting German SC (from ebay) and using 'jellyfish like' PC (from Amazon). What's your fave?

The Pereaux is a fine amp.
My top three would be:
Unison Research S7
Copland 405
Unison Research Secundo.

I'm a bit biased though. I do service for both companies.

I've owned a Tandberg 3012A, Linn Majik, Classe' CAP-151, Audionet SAM V2 and a YBA Passion Integre' and I loved them all for one reason or another. But the Lavardin IT that now graces my system does everything better than all that came before.

Unfortunately it took years for me to be able to afford one on the pre-owned market. And it's the last integrated I'll ever buy...I am done. Finally! :)

Thanks for replying -
I've listed the integrated I've had that I can remember below...I've always been curious about Lavardin as previous poster mention - you don't have a problem being without a remote? Has anyone compared the IT and IS versions?

In no special order - all of them great sounding...
NAD 304 (last before contracting audiophilia :-)
Denon PMA2000IVR (had 2 of them, and will buy again when I have space)
Rogue Pharaoh
Dussun V6i (fave binding posts on this one)
Luxman L550AII (ran too hot, gorgeous sound and looks)
TEAC AI2000
NAD M3
CODA CSi (another fantastic amp, but ran too hot for me)
Creek Destiny (really good one, that I'd buy again if and when I have funds and room)
...and always curious to try new ones when possible.

Truth to tell I've owned the IT for a very short time so the jury is still out on dealing without a remote control on an everyday basis. Obviously I'd prefer that it had a remote. But so far the sublime sound quality more than compensates for the inconvenience of remote-less operation. And I doubt that my feelings will change going forward....unless I break a hip.

Me very happy camper right now. :)

With the right tube compliment (and fairly sensitive speakers with a smooth impedance curve) this amp performs at a level many so-called statement products can only dream of.

Thanks for the input - Lavardin and LFD are regulars in these types of threads...maybe there is some sonic benefit to 'sans remote cotrol'?

...and just remembered another integrated I've had, adding to my previous list...
Marantz PM-KI Pearl

I was on the Lavardin website today and after years of refusing to implement remote control capability into their integrated amps, they have introduced the X Series that feature what they refer to as Zero Side Effect Volume Control.

So....for 2 decades I wait patiently for the price of a pre-owned IT to come down to a level that I can afford....and now they start offering remote controls with the new models.

I can't win!

I would rate integrateds from Rogue, McIntosh, or PrimaLuna as good sounding integrateds.

The Marantz PM-11S3 at a local gallery. Don't own one, but inspired me to slide into the Marantz PM-8005.. I finally got one from a fellow USAM member. Sounds fantastic, drives finicky speakers with ease. Perhaps not the last word in sound repro, but makes me happy. :D

I could write a whole book on the back story, but I won't.
