M540mike, stay away from him. He bought a pre amp from me on March 22.I just recieved an E-mail from paypal that he is requesting his money back. If paypal refunds his money 3 months after a purchase, there is something wrong here. I will keep you posted.

I would call paypal, not email them, and find out the complete story. Be proactive or you may get screwed.

You should contact the buyer as well to try to get a more thorough picture from them, and pull up proof of purchase and delivery (such as tracking numbers and delivery signatures, if any) for Paypal.

PayPal is worth every penny,
their customer service is quick and fair and they do not like any buyer or seller being unhappy with the deal.
A good reason to never cheat them by sending/receiving moneys as friends.
I'd love to find out why three months has elapsed and I'm guessing Pay Pal will want to know too.

Really sorry to hear about this outcome GiantSalami.

There are many people that swear by PayPal and sometimes it seems that there are an equal amount that swear at PayPal. Every time time I hear a story like this it makes me reconsider whether I should be using it or not. The are a multitude of horror stories out there that are similar to what the OP is experiencing. But from what I have heard PP almost always sides with the buyer in any given dispute; no big revelation there...the buyers are what keeps PP fat & happy. Without buyers there is no gravy train.

Not sure if this is true or not but I read that AI i.e. artificial intelligence is the ultimate arbiter and decides all of the outcomes of any PP disputes; of course the computer is programmed by humans with information and facts that are specific to any particular dispute. Using a computer to decide who's right and who's wrong removes the human capacity for empathy etc. from the equation and thereby eliminates the unnecessary human emotional component from the dispute process.

I hope I'm wrong and that it's probably just another one of those urban legends that you read about on the untamed frontier known as the internet. But it wouldn't surprise me a bit if it was true.....

I'm thinking you may be correct, as I called after I recieved the notice of the decision and explained that this was 3 months after the sale and the "representative" said that she would pass this information to the... deciders? I'm not sure of the title. There was no effort to contact me on MY side of the sale. All this happened in a 2 or 3 day time period on my end. The day after talking to them in person, I recieved a notice that the item has been shipped back. soooo... decision made, and he got a 3 month free ride.

I just saw this and I was going to say you were going to be screwed as something like this happened to me too. It wasnt 3 months but rather 4 weeks or so BUT I had a second person who dealt with the same buyer and the same thing happened to him as well and ye t with proof that the buyer was a scammer they still gave him back his money and I got back a damaged cosmetically unit.

so it proved that they dont read any of the emails or look at the evidence. the buyer didnt even reply , provided no evidence at all. I wrote many messages and had all the proof needed ...still lost...

The buyer, M540mike, referenced by the OP has perfect feedback here. What's up with that?

You can file a complaint for up to SIX MONTHS with Paypal! I hope you at least got your pre amp back in good condition. They ALWAYS side with the buyer. Did you give M540mike good feedback? It wouldn't matter anyway, it's considered a no sale if you get your merchandise back. He probably decided he didn't like it or got something else instead. I'm so sorry this happened.

I forgot, thanks for letting us know about this member. Did you complain to the mods here? They probably wouldn't ban him anyway.
