Last year I picked up a used Rega RB250 that has been rewired with Cardas tonearm wire by a CAM DIYer.
There was a bit of a hum issue when I hooked it up, and on investigation it turns out the ground wire has come detached from the grounding strap inside, near the end stub... it's a hard thing to photograph, but you might be able to make it out from the picture.
I'm not experienced enough with electronics or tonearms to fix this with confidence. I took it to a repair shop and they quoted me $120+taxes to fix it, which is a bit more than I want to pay.
I'd sell it for $200, or I'd gladly use it as a partial trade for interesting stuff... Currently looking for a few pairs of decent matched interconnects, a nice Power Amp, a NAD 326BEE or 356BEE or something similar, a Bluesound Node 2 or comparabe network streamer, or a decent DAC.
