For sale are my beloved Troels Gravesen designed DTQWT MKII speakers. I completed these speakers in November of 2014 and they have been in my system working flawlessly since then but I have decided to move on to something different so these must go to a new home.
These are High-Efficiency 95 Db speakers comprised of an 8" JA8008 driver, a TW034 1" tweeter and 2- 10" Deltalite 2510 woofers per speaker. It takes very little to drive them and they are designed to work with low wattage SET tube amps but I ran them with 100w el34 tubes monoblocks and they sound fantastic.
I built the cabinets myself using Baltic Birch plywood, the front baffles are Lacewood with Mahogany inserts, these beautiful woods have taken on a nice deep tone as they've aged and look wonderful. The sides and rear of the cabinets are painted in a satin black finish. All internal bracing is birch plywood and the joinery of the cabinets was done using bisquits and polyurethane glue, these are solid as a rock. Fully damped per the build instructions. The crossovers were assembled by an electronics friend of mine since that is not my expertise. They are setup for bi-wiring but can be jumped for single. 4 adjustable cones on the bottom for leveling.
Please check out the link to Troels page for more specific information on the speakers http://www.troelsgravesen.dk/JA8008_DTQWT.htm
The downside is these are large and heavy so I have no way of boxing and shipping them so these would be for local pick up only. They are in my home in the west suburbs of Chicago and I would gladly plug them in for an audition. You need to hear these for yourself but for the money I believe they rival professionally built speakers several times their cost.
I MIGHT consider selling the components only, ie: drivers, crossovers and all internal wiring without the cabinets if someone wanted to build their own pair. Email with offers but I think it would be a shame to take these beautiful speakers apart.
