Have you noticed how rare JBL 18Ti speakers have become? When you're able to find a pair, they're usually abused garbage. Not mine. When you have found a pair, you undoubtedly think, "Wow, I thought I'd never see, find, or have a pair of JBL 18Ti speakers ever again." Did you look at the grilles on mine? Well, wait until you've read more, then look - - and enlarge the pictures, too! But, look at the two-way speakers being sold today; plastic and way overpriced. The JBL 18Ti has competed, and beat, speakers like what is being sold today, for years and years. This is why they are still a "prized" speaker system. Their sound has always being fabulous, and their construction has always been audiophile quality - - and they're still less expensive, even at my firm price.
There's a pair on Flea-Bay. Take a look and you tell me which you'd rather have - - mine or those. Here's a clue: Those are what I mean by "abused garbage." Single DARK photo and you can barely see anything. What's the seller hiding? "Good condition"? Really? Gosh, for $240 plus shipping, I sure hope the Drivers in the damaged cabinets work . . . From my own experience, those speakers will cost as much to repair, with your labor, and IF you can find working parts, will cost you as much or more than my speakers. A single tweeter will cost you anywhere from $160.00 to way past $220.00. So, go ahead, buy those and take a chance on 'em! Why is one upside down? I know! The smallest speakers in the formidable Ti Series of speakers, these gems are well able to handle their designed input load of up to 200 Watts, each! Like all Ti Series speakers, these carry the "signature" .044 Titanium tweeters, thus their Series name - the "Ti" Series. They are restored like new, and while they are now considered "vintage," they are also very rare and can, and do, rival the best of today's speakers in their category and for far less money. Their build, design, and sound quality of 1985 was far ahead of their time with specifications only now being seen and appreciated in today's 2-way monitors of other lesser known brands for which you can easily pay quadruple my price! Despite their great quality, JBL 18Ti speakers like these are rare today, and they can still be repaired as opposed to other brands of a younger age. So, don't let these 18Ti's get away from you!
