A very nice sounding Grace F8L on offer. I was intrigued with the strong following that the Grace line of cartridges has, and decided that I'd like to try one. I am glad that I did, as I do enjoy the sound of this cartridge. It is a full, robust sound, excellent low end, palpable mids and softer highs. The Grace has introduced a lively kind of ambiance to the sound that was largely missing. There is not hint of brightness or harshness with the Grace, which makes for a very pleasant and musical presentation. I thought that the F8 would be a longer term cartridge, but after extended listening this past month, I've concluded that my system needs a cartridge that is a wee bit brighter (admittedly splitting hairs). My table, arm, amplification, phono stage and cables are all on the darker side of neutral (older pieces, tubes, solid core wires). The easiest way to liven things up a bit for me is to mount a brighter cartridge, thus I offer the Grace.
The body shows signs of its age, the stylus and suspension in very good condition. The F8L is a higher compliance cartridge (20 Cu), and is thus better suited to tonearms with a lower effective mass. It is a really nice match with my Thorens TP-16 mklll arm.
My removed phone number for privacycamera) is in for repair for a few days, in the interim, please refer to my CAM Gallery for a photo of the Grace in action (most photos of the table include an AT cartridge. The Grace is pictured with the clear stylus surround).
